Can be normal: "clicking" or "popping" of joints can be normal and is very rarely treated unless pain is associated with the clicking. Joints that swell and hurt that are associated with "clicking" should be evaluated by a doctor.

If no pain, no worry: We rarely worry about painless popping of joints. Stiffness is a nonspecific symptom, but can imply arthritis of a joint or tendinitis around a joint. If very mild and middle-age or older, then likely only observation is required.
