Blood donor drinking: Alcohol of any type makes you lose more fluid than what you take in (diuresis). It is not safe to drink alcohol after blood donation because your blood volume and blood pressure are already going to be low. Drink only non-alcoholic and non-caffeinated fluids after blood donation.
