Maybe: If given the medication for a viral process it is not an allergic reaction. If for a bacterial it may well be.You may wish to speak to an allergist to better define what is going on.

Skin reaction to: Amoxicillin may indicate allergy to the drug & related drugs (penicillin, ampicillin, augmentin...) please be careful in the future w these drugs & tell all of your health care professionals about this suspected allergy. Skin rxn will likely dissipate in a few days. Check w your pcp for suggestions, but u can try topical steroid creams (otc) & oral Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for the skin. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) may cause.
