A member asked:

Does the sedative used in endoscopy lead to a lot of hair loss?

No: No, the sedatives do not cause hair loss. If you're having a lot of hair loss, something else must be causing it.

Most likely not: Most likely sedation did not cause severe hair loss. It's something you should talk to your doctor about for more investigation.

Not likely: Versed and other drugs used in sedation for colonoscopy do not result in hair loss. Other metabolic or endocrine disorders can cause this. Discuss with your doctor.
