Nothing: The acute myelogenous leukemias simply appear. There are a few uncommon genetic lesions that predispose a person, as down radiation and perhaps down's, but it is a mistake to look for a particular "cause" or "trigger" for this or most other cancers (the major exception being smoking and lung cancer).
