Unlikely: Congratulations on quitting smoking! it is not known why people develop allergies, but it has not been linked to stopping smoking. A lung disease called hypersensitivity pneumonitis can have less acute breathing episodes in smokers, as smoke interferes with lung macrophage function, but these persons can have significant chronic breathing issues. Don't resume smoking; see an allergist!
