Yes: In fact, an allergic reaction is just that....The body's over exuberant immune response to proteins or substances that most people's immune system tolerate just fine. If by over reacting you are referring to emotionally over reacting, then this could lead to asthma symptoms or even hives, but unlikely allergic rhinitis symptoms. Stress and strong emotions may trigger hives and asthma.
