Doubt it: Treatment is based on severity of clinical presentation. Typically, it is initiated with an oral tetracycline, such as Doxycycline or topical metronidazole. Concomitant topical and/or oral anti-inflammatory agents can be added in moderate cases. For severe cases that are recalcitrant to treatment, a multipronged approach is appropriate. Combination therapy:topical, oral anti-inflammatoryantibiotic.

Avoid sun exposure: Sun exposure is a major trigger. Also avoid spicy foods, hot beverages, extreme temperatures, alcoholic beverages, cheese and if possible, reduce stress. Consider using daily sunscreen. There are medicines out there from antibiotics to blood pressure meds. The newest treatment includes laser treatment - simple procedure in office, but very effective.
