Retinols, Sunscreen: There are several non-prescription products that can be used for photoaging or sun damage. Products containing retinols, a precursor of tretinoic acid or retin-a, are very beneficial in evening pigment and increasing collagen. Prevention of further damage is also extremely important and a good sunscreen with spf30 or higher should be used daily along with a good cleanser and moisturizer.

Several: Retinoid containing formulations are readily available. Retinoids are vitamin a derivatives that are metabolized to form retinoic acid (also known as tretinoin). Retinoic acid benefits include increased cell turnover and collagen production. A good sunscreen is also very important, and even more so if you are using topical retinoids because they tend to cause skin sensitivity to sun exposure.
