Wear retainer: Either wear your retainers or use a fixed arch wire.

If: Tmj is not aligned, thick band of tissue from labial frenum wasn't corrected (frenectomy) between the teeth, deep bite and overjet was not resolved, gap (diastema) will relapse.

Several things.: Wear a retainer daily. Avoid harmful habits -such as clenching, grinding your teeth, biting on pens or pencils. Have your dentist evaluate your occlusion (the way you bite) and adjust any interferences. Have your dentist evaluate your frenum (muscle fiber that runs between 2 front upper teeth) for possible reduction.

Retainer: If a gap was closed orthodontic ally then you can either have a fixed or removable retainer made. Sometimes gaps open due to instability of your bite so definitely look into that as well.

Tooth gap: May be due to overly small teeth, angulation of the teeth, presence of excessive connective tissue between the teeth, and many other reasons. If you have seen an Orthodontist to close the space, he/she may be able to make a fixed or removable retainer to prevent relapse. If gum tissue problem, Orthodontist may want to refer your to a Periodontist to recontour the connective tissue.
