What ekg is mainly used for. often by the time you get to er, chest pain is gone. could you get abnormal result after the chest pain is gone.

Screening only: Ecg is a low tech screening tool. It can be abnormal with or without chest pain. The whole history and physical need to be taken into account. A risk score has been developed to risk stratify pts and includes several items and ECG is just one of them.
