Tender...: Costochondritis is inflammation of the cartillage in your sternum/chest wall area. The pain can be so severe that it can mimic a heart attack. The treatment is an anti-inflammatory; and a soft tissue massage if needed. Over time the symptoms will subside; and check with your doctor if needed.

Cartilage inflammati: This is an inflammation of the ribs usually related to a viral illness. The best treatment includes anti- inflammatory drugs or steroids. A trial of advil, Motrin or Aleve (naproxen) is usually helpful. Even with no treatment the inflammation can get better within 1 to 2 weeks.
