Costochondritis: First of, make sure it is costochondritis not anything else, as internal disease mimicking the condition, e.g. heart or lung condition. Then, know it is sort of chronic inflammation and may take time to resolve, anti inflammatory treatment with NSAIDS, unless contraindicated, systemic or topical is the cornerstone for controlling pain, besides resting the area, warm compresses, etc. Good luck
