Ampicllin: Ampicillin is a chemically modified form of penicillin designed so as to amplify the activity of penicillin against gram-negative organisms. It has exactly the same spectrum of activity and the antibacterially active component is identical. If you are allergic to one you are allergic to all penicillin derivatives.
