A member asked:

If i lose weight from my face will i lose my dimples? i want to keep my dimples..and is it true that dimples are due to shortened cheek muscles?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

genetic defect: Dimples are considered mark of beauty and loveliness. The truth is that dimples are actually genetic defects that are caused by shortened facial muscles. Dimples are caused by a fault in the subcutaneous connective tissue that develops in course of the embryonic development. A variation in the structure of the facial muscle may also cause dimples.
