Tsietse's syndorme?: One cause of pain of this nature is acute costochondritis, an inflammatory condition caused by several factors, including trauma, viruses, even tumors and infections that are chronic. Patients with arthritic illnesses are at greater risk. Treatment is rest and nsaids like aleve, (naproxen) ibuprofen, etc.
