Post op symptoms: Could be scar tissue from your gallbladder surgery. If your operation was in last six months it may get better over time as he scar tissue matures.

Several possiblities: Although it could be scar tissue, it could also be an enlarged liver, intercostal muscle spasm, or very commonly, rib dysfunction. If a rib gets 'stuck' meaning it fails to rise with inhalation or to fall with exhalation, pain in the rib cage often ensues. A good history & physical, incl hands-on exam by an osteopathic dr. Could find the problem. Osteopathic manipulation could fix it.

Liver?: It could be scarring from the previous surgery or your liver. Are you overweight? Sometimes fat can accumulate in the liver and cause slight enlargement. Even slight enlargement of the liver can push against the rigid capsule of the liver and cause pain. I would start with your Family Doctor to begin the work up to figure out why you have this pain.
