How should a 5 day post-op laparotomy look?

Depends: Some patients will be close to discharge. Some will continue with nasogastric tube and Foley catheter. Okay to ask your surgery team about progress and recovery.

More information pls: Was the wound closed primarily? Are there staples? Is there drainage from the wound? Is it red? Do you have fever? These are the main things i look for in post-op laparotomy wounds. If you have concern, call your surgeon.
