Behavior patterns?: Depression is often accompanied by loss of appetite, or compulsive eating, disturbed sleep patterns, social isolation, self abasement, lack of interest in personal appearance. A sense of hopelessness and helplessness often accompanies depression. Depression may be chronic, or triggered by difficult situations such as disappointed expectations, grief over loss of loved ones, loss of job.

Depressive sx's may include low mood, irritability, anger, ^ or v sleep, change in appetite, feelings of helplessness or hopelessness, v energy, v self-esteem, feelings of guilt. V motivation, absence of joy, v concentration, v memory ; suicidal thoughts.
