Find new doctor: If you have depression, your doctor may refer you to see a mental health specialist, like a psychologist, psychiatrist, or therapist. The doctor may also discuss with you about medications which may help. If your doctor does not do either of these and you feel that the doctor is not addressing your depression, then perhaps you should consider changing to a new doctor...

How clearly have you: Articulated your needs ; your symptoms to your doctor? Tell your doctor about your mood, energy level, concentration, memory, self esteem, motivation levels, sex drive, sleep ; appetite. Crying spells, feelings of helplessness or hopelessness are pertinent as well as your capacity to feel joy. Let your doctor know immediately if you have suicidal thoughts. Psychiatric or psychological referrals.
