In general, yes, but: It all depends on what form your anxiety is taking. For example, if it's part of, say, obsessions and compulsions it can be very good. One good thing about it overall is that it is not a medication that induces dependency.

Can be helpful: Venlafaxine can definitely be helpful in anxiety -- can protect against panic attacks and such also. However, adding psychotherapy to your treatment plan increases your likelihood of relief. It also gives you insight into your own mental and emotional processes so that you can interrupt anxiety from building. Eventually, you may not need to rely on medication at all.
