Thats the definition: Fibromyalgia is a clinical diagnosis made on the basis of history and physical examination. There are no blood tests to define it, so we rely on "diagnostic criteria." these include widespread, chronic pain, sleep difficulties, symptoms on both sides of the body, and 11 of 18 activated "pressure points" or tender points identified on physical exam at least once during a physician office visit.
