It may: Depends on whether it is a nerve loss or a conductive hearing loss, and depends on what "mild" means. For many people, a little amplification gets them back to where they used to be, and for others, not so much. An audiologist or ENT physician can better answer the question for you based on what your hearing loss is like.

Will not restore: Hearing aids will amplify sound for you. It will not restore your hearing. Review of your hearing test would be necessary to know if you would be likely to get a lot of benefit from a hearing aid. Most hearing aids will have a trial period on them and can be returned while in this time. That way you could try it and see if it helps.
