A member asked:

I was diagnosed with pancreatitis and it's too painful to eat or drink anything. help?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It will be: First you must figure out what the pancreatitis is from. Gallstones? Alcohol? Medication? High cholesterol? Something else? Once that is determined you must correct the problem. The pain wil take time to go away. Minimize oral intake. A clear liquid diet or nothing at all is sometimes recommended. If you are at risk for starvation, IV nutrition can be started.
