May take time: As long as your thyroid remains overactive, your metabolism will be speeded up and it will be difficult to regain the weight that you have lost. It is importaht that you are seen frequently and your treatment adjusted to bring your thyroid hormone levels to normal as soon as possible.

Metabolism: You need to get your hyperthyroidism under control with medication. Right now, your metabolism is running high. See your physician who can evaluate you and start you on medication like ptu (propylthiouracil) or tapazole.

You Need Treatment : You need to see an endocrinologist and should not delay treatment any further! there are many manifestations of hyperthyroidism including weight/hair loss, anxiety/irritability, palpitations, amenorrhea, osteoporosis, neurological symptoms just to name a few. While the most common cause is graves dz, less common causes include thyroiditis/mng/hyperactive adenoma for which you need to be evaluated.
