A quick fix: Dental veneers are an artificial covering over the front of your teeth to change the color, size, or shape of the teeth. They are usually made in a dental lab out of porcelain and bonded to the tooth. Tooth bonding usually refers to bonding resin to the tooth to change it. Porcelain is more color stable, resin in more conservative to the natural tooth.

Similar: Bonding (typically plastic) or veneers (typically porcelain) can be used to cover the entire front surface of your tooth or teeth. It may be used to change the aesthetic appearance, shape, color, size or position of the tooth. Bonding is hand sculpted in the mouth whereas veneers are made outside of the mouth and bonded to the tooth. Veneers are more color stable & stronger.

More permanent : Veneers are usually made out of porcelain, while bondings are resin material . Resin can discolor over time but is a more conservative restoration . Your dentist can let you which would be the best treatment for your case. Remember that veneers are usually more expensive and require multiple visits but usually last longer.

A full facade: Think of a fake fingernail--a veneer covers the entire front tooth surface, while bonding may only be needed to restore samller parts of a tooth.

Dental Veneers: Dental veneers are a facade on front of your teeth like plywood on a wall. It is just the surface that is drilled or changed with a veneer. Veneers are ceramic and lab fabricated whereas bonding is a composite resin and can be done in office more quickly. Both are good as veneers typically cost more and looks are usually better with veneers but not always. Both are good options.

What are veneers: Think of a veneer as something that is bonded on the tooth to change the shape and color of the tooth, these can be made from composite or ceramics with ceramics being made at the lab then bonded on whereas the composite bonded directly to the tooth.
