A member asked:

What is the average cost of dental bonding per tooth? i'd like bonding done on six teeth to correct some imperfections, and would like to know what a good average price would likely be before i go for consultations.

The : The point of the consultation is to evaluate your situation clinically and determine what is the correct treatment for you. It is impossible to give you an estimate sight unseen. Sorry.

I : I agree with dr.Kaufman. Typically, the fees for bonding are based on the number of surfaces and the difficulty of the procedure. You could have your teeth evaluated at more than one dentist and then you could compare the fees and the proposed procedure. Every tooth is different. It is hard to come up with a fee without evaluating them clinically.

Before : Before you invest money on your smile that will have an impact on your looks, the things you need to know are: 1. Will it be long term?- bonding vs. Veneers/crowns 2. What will influence this bonding to last longer? - if you have a deep bite, the life of the restoration will be compromised - if you have deep bite plus grinding habits, the disintegration is very high. - if the gums are not healthy, the quality and end result of bonding if there's involvement of gingival margin is poor. The blood and crevicular fluid will ruin the material... I am sure the credible dentists in this panel have a lot more to add here. You need to be diagnosed first and will have a treatment plan and fees presented.

Bondings: It really depends on extend of the bonded area. Well done bonding will last longer and typically will be more expensive. Have a consultation done with general dentist and possibly another opinion. Do your research. Treatments are irreversible.
