A member asked:

I have recently started having sex and i wanted to know.how safe are pills and what are there possible side effects? which one to take?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Quite safe: Birth control pills are quite safe for most women. Talk with your doctor to see if you have a medical condition in which birth control pills are not right. Most side effects are minor such as irregular bleeding in the first few months, nausea, breast tenderness and rarely mood swings. And the pill is safer than pregnancy!
