Hip Replacement: Hip replacement is a very successful surgery to treat severe arthritis of the hip. Like any other surgery, there are risks and benefits that need to be considered. Risks include dislocation, blood clots, infection, injury to nerve or blood vessels, fracture and the need for potential further surgery. Usually the benefits outweigh the risks. Talk to your orthopaedic surgeon for further info.
