Health/fitness: The best thing you can do prior to a hip replacement is to maintain your health and fitness - in particular your hip strength and rom. This will make it easier for you to recover after surgery. Immediately prior to surgery, you will receive instructions as to preop cleansing, stopping eating, etc. Good luck!

Preop hip : Eat healthy, don't go on a diet, stop smoking if you smoke, get your blood levels checked and treat any underlying anemia, have yourself checked for staphylococcus colonization and get decolonized as needed, use hibiclens wipes, clean up your house to make sure its safe when you get home.
