Tdap!: While tetanus is more likely to occur from a puncture wound than a scratch, if you are not up-to-date on your tetanus boosters(and thus on your diphtheria and whooping cough boosters as well), you need to get one. If insurance is a problem, at 18 you can still get one dirt cheap at your local health department through the vfc (vaccine for children) program. If had tdap booster in past 5 years, ok!

Booster required: When was your last tetanus shot. If its been longer than ten years you need a booster.
