Why does my pearl tongue itches?

Pearl piercing?: Some people are very allergic to the metals and materials in tongue piercing. Also, the hole around the piercing can get infected. Allergy and infection can cause the area to itch. Wound induced neuropathy can cause your tongue to itch. In general, tongue piercings put you at risk for many serious and annoying side effects.

Clean tongue: If this does not help, then have your physician order a blood test for systemic evaluation.
