Plastic surgery goal: The advantage of plastic surgery, is improvement of form and function. The goal of cosmetic plastic surgery is to improve the way you look. Reconstructive cases improve the way you look, but also restore function. Both improve patient's self-esteem and well being. The disadvantage, is that surgery carries some risks, and this will be dependent on the surgical procedure. http://www.dassmd.com.

Many.: Good question but too broad to answer here. The advantages/disadvantages of any specific procedure will be numerous. In other words, every procedure has its pros/cons as well as a whole set of potential risk/complications associated with it. Therefore, best to be evaluated in person by board-certified plastic surgeons who, after discussing your concerns and goals, can provide you with good advice.
