Agree with dr rosato: While i agree with dr. Rosato i would also add that teens who have reached a certain level of adolescent growth (e.g., young women who have begun menses) may actually be good candidates for rhinoplasty surgery. I have personally seen shy, reserved ; embarrassed young patients (bothered by certain developmental or acquired nasal deformities) blossom after having their external nasal shape improved.

Depends on the issue: Plastic surgery encompasses a wide range of procedures. Birth defects are often operated close to the time of birth with parental consent. Prominent ears, gynecomastia and nasal deformities are often performed prior to 18 with parental consent. Primarily elective procedures like liposuction and breast augmentation are best delayed until 18, and sometimes later. You must 18 to consent for yourself.
