Buyer Beware: Red rice yeast products (rry) are not regulated by the fda. Active rry contains a naturally occurring form of statin that lowers cholesterol, but has the same side effects including muscle problems and potentially fetal deformities. Thus, the fda required all manufacturers of rry products in the us to remove the statin component. You may not know what you are getting.
