A member asked:

Are there replacements for hydrocodone?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

For what purpose?: The opiate hydrocodone is usually administered orally as vicodin or norco, (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) they are mixed with Acetaminophen which has been linked with liver disease. It is a strong analgesic, and a pain management doc is your best option to discuss alternatives. A preparation called Hycodan is not mixed with Acetaminophen and i believe has been prescribed as a anti-tussive (for coughing). Serious subject, see md.
