How long does it take for compound w to get rid of a wart? what will the appearance of the wart be in the process?

Can take a bit: Compound w is one of several treatments for warts which works by trying to irritate it chemically to break it down. 2 weeks to 1 month is typical. Sometimes the wart will get red, black, irritated or inflamed. While there is no perfect method for wart removal, i find the most effective is having a doc use liquid nitrogen which is colder than the otc versions and may clear it faster.

Varied...: Over the counter remedies (like compound w) are used for the treatment of simple warts. The wart may have an initial reddened exterior as you treat it; and should eventually simply fall off. If you'd rather you can take an uncoated 325mg Aspirin and use a little water to make a paste and apply it topically to the wart(the same as compound w).
