A member asked:

My teeth seem to be more yellow after brushing with hydrogen peroxide, why is that?

?: I don't know why that is happening to you, try to change the peroxide brand and also make the mixture half water half peroxide and try that. Also you can just buy a whitening toothpaste and it will do a better job than peroxide.

Good question!: Hydrogen peroxide is an agent used in some whitening systems. However, it won't have an immediate effect if you simply brush with it in the liquid form available in the 3% liquid you can buy in a drugstore or grocery. It cannot make your teeth more yellow. Maybe you removed more whitish plaque and see the actual tooth color now? Your best bet to whiten is to see a dentist.
