Better to prevent: A partial thickness burn is characterized by blister formation. Having treated burns for 25+ years, my advice is to unroof the blister and expose the raw surface underneath. This eliminates the possibility of the blister fluid becoming infected and converting the burn to full thickness. Wash with soap/water 1-2x/day, apply Bacitracin ointment and a dry dressing. If infected, see a doctor.
