Probiotics and More: Probiotics contain good bacteria that helps keep vaginal pH in balance. Lactobacilli is a type of probiotic which has been shown to be helpful in reducing yeast infections. You can use a commercially available probiotic brand with 10-20 billion live cultures. Daily intake of garlic may also be helpful. For more tips, please refer to my health guide: vaginal health. Recurrent yeast: To prevent yeast infections, wear cotton or silk underwear to prevent excess moisture. Avoid douching and eat more yogurt. The active cultures replenish healthy bacteria. See your md if you experience more than four yeast infections a year. This may be related to other medical conditions and may require more treatment. Frequent antibiotic use may also cause yeast infections.
