Not too frequent: Benzoyl peroxide is a common ingredient in acne products. Hydrogen peroxide could be use in a pinch. I use hydrogen peroxide to clean wounds in the er. I have read that with regular use it can damage skin, but on a one time use I have never seen any significant problems.

Don't: Hydrogen peroxide is helpful to clean wounds if bleeding not for acne care. Avoid putting chemicals on your face that will not help your skin.
