Pain Medications: This really depends on the drugs you were taking. If they were opioids, physical and psychological addiction could be possible . Acetaminophen in high doses for extended periods can cause liver damage. Nsaids, such as ibuprofen, naproxen, Celebrex (celecoxib) all in high doses can cause kidney damage and ulcer and bleeding in the G.I. Tract.
