Do canker sores form when you are sick or is it just randomly?

Both: Canker sores or aphthous ulcers are lesion that can be triggered by several factors. Stress, foods, flavoring, alcohol etc. They can be opportunistic so illness can present weakness to immune system. They will run their course for 7- 10 days. There can be multiple sores that can become larger lesion and linger longer. No cure, only help you cope with them.
