Don't worry: Ovarian cysts are very common. Sometimes a "cyst" is just a mature follicle where an egg is to be released. Sounds like er doc wasn't worried, so this was likely a simple cyst. Unless the cyst gets large or causes your ovary to twist on itself, a simple cyst usually resolves on its own. They can rupture and/or bleed, which is painful, but not serious. This should have no effect on fertility.
