Avoid heavy lifting: What exercises one performs with a disherniated disc depends on the current symptoms and signs caused by the disc problem. Generally speaking, i limit heavy lifting, especially overhead. The high-impact nature of running and jumping can also cause problems. Light weight training, especially focused on core & lower body, plus cardio such as elliptical & stationary biking are usually well tolerated.
