No, see your dentist: Fever blisters are from a virus that you have in your "system" that comes out when you may be stressed, or your resistance is lowered. I have obtained fine results with a dental laser treatment. The laser is aimed at the sore, but does not directly touch it. Patients feel the heat, but the "tickle" or "burning sensation" that occurs from cold sores, immediately disappears. Faster healing too.

No to both: Fever blisters (cold sores) are recurrent herpes viral infections. Vitamins have potential effects on health, but won't eradicate the virus. Orajel is worse, because numbness can make it easy to traumatize and prolong the wound. Best bet is a rx from doc for an Acyclovir ointment. If frequent, consider preventive therapy with daily Valtrex (valacyclovir) (rx). Fear not, it'll be gone in 2 weeks if left alone.

No; try lemon balm: Prenatal vitamins may boost you immune system and thus help prevent oral herpes outbreaks, but won't do much to help one heal; though for a man you might want to try a stronger multivitamin. The best remedy i know of for cold sores is topical melissa cream, also known as lemon balm .
