What can i take for a swallowen/sore throat when ibuprofen doesn't work cause it really hurts.

Treat the cause: Sore throat could be due to viral or bacterial infection ex: strep throat. If its viral, salt water gargling , plenty of fluids will help treat the pain and the infection will run its own course. If its bacterial, you need an antibiotic. Consult your doctor. You can take Ibuprofen three times a day as needed.
