Overtreatment: You don't need to take antibiotics and steroids for yellow snot. You just need to blow your nose, and take decongestants if it's bothering you. Irrigation is fine if you feel like your sinuses are congested.

Sounds like allergy.: Antibiotics help infections. Irrigation kits remove something that's stuck somewhere. But neither one of them treats allergy, which causes swelling, snot, post-nasal drip, coughing, sneezing and watery eyes; that's a lot of mess and aggravation! most allergy meds work best when used daily, not just when you're having symptoms. Nasal spray & otc allergy pills often work well together.
