Why might a 3year old have ketones in their urine ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not eating?: Ketones indicate the patient is not consuming or unable to metabolize calories adequately. Most of the time this occurs because the child has been not eating well, or vomiting, but other conditions, like diabetes must be considered. Your doctor should be able to explain the significance in your child, and how to manage them.
