Depends on situation: There are few treatments if any for most viral infections. Influenza & HIV are well known cases where antivirals are helpful but most must run their course & be cured by the bodies immune system.Monitoring for dehydration or treatable secondary infections is important.Proper rest & diet is the most helpful supportive care. Rarely viruses can kill, the overwhelming majority do not.
